Use of Metaphor and Lyric prose in Science Fiction and Fantasy Writing.

There is not enough use of figurative language, evocative images and metaphorical juxtapositions in current poetry. I suggest reading Science Fiction as these writers have to mold language to describe their alternate universes and their use of language is penultimate. Please endeavor to read Science Fiction/Fantasy writers such as Catherynne M. Valente, Benjanun Sriduangkaew, E. Catherine Tobler, Ken Liu, Aliette de Bodard, and Yoon Ha Lee. You can also hear their work PODCAST FOR FREE on CLARKESWORLD or BENEATH CEASELESS SKIES . I especially commend Catherynne M. Valente’s works : 13 Ways of Looking at Space Time and the Long Goodbye of Violet Wild.  I also suggest going back and reading Olga Broumas and Jane Miller, if you want to know what  Evocative, Provocative, Lyric Poetry is all about.
