Chittenango Falls

you know I read the sky for Orion

under the same stars tonight

will you chance to look above you

see the misgivings of years past alone

unreclaimable    do your dreams

bring you back to the promise

we could not make

eruptions of dead stars

ripple the fabric of our universe

suddenly there we stand

beyond space time at Chittenango Falls

water rushing its primordial edges

as we wade the stream below

all I want to do is whisper

stay with me    stay

with me this time

we have gotten beyond all that

shadows in the new moon

cherry blossoms every April

sun in equinox too soon

tulips, daffodils, forsythia

 this is a letter

a plea to the spring sight of you

London in May, July in San Juan

I am so hungry for the past

filled with lovers

at least then I had my pick

to bite the full throat of you

to sleep in your arms

to lay my hair across your face

to claim you simply

as one reaches and picks a flower

red flor de maga in wind

my hands trembling

My Garden Green & Astonishing

I planted the garden myself in meditative silence. This is how I pray. Rather the sound of the Trades, than any song. The way the palms shimmer with sound. The ocean rushing the beach below me. From this promontory, I embrace the universe.

Today is Day 191 since Hurricane Maria made landfall and Day 204 since Hurricane Irma made landfall on the island of Puerto Rico. StatusPR reports that electric generation remains at 90.10% for its subscribers.

Cooking With The Bad Boricua

I only know how to make flan from the box. I don’t care. It tastes like home. Es muy importante que quemas tanto la sartén como la cuchara. It is very important to burn both the spoon and the pan. In my house anyway.

Silken Cord

Somewhere in this world or another, there is a silken cord and I am tethered to you. You are like the sun. All I want is to orbit around you as the moon orbits the earth and the earth orbits the sun.

Lie To Me # 3

If I said, that I loved you even now, would my tears betray me. The silence is a lie, just as darkness falls. Tonight when we need refuge, there will only be one place to go. Come home. Come home. Come home to me.

Today is Day 187 since Hurricane Maria made landfall and Day 200 since Hurricane Irma made landfall on the island of Puerto Rico. People are still in the dark, don’t lie to us.

Lie To Me # 2

I am lost to the depth of my need for you. Lie to me, go ahead. We have already torn ourselves so far from the truth. Lie to me so that I can lie to you.IMG_5757.jpg
