99.22% with… .78% still without

Today the AEE reports 99.22% of the population has power. There are only 1 day until hurricane season begins. Today is 250 days since Maria made landfall and 263 days since Irma made landfall on Puerto Rico.

On the Spring Equinox, Day 181 since Hurricane Maria made landfall and Day 194 since Hurricane Irma made landfall on the island of Puerto Rico, AEE continues to report that 99.30% electrification 93% of its customers.

AEE’s estimate is not held as a fact and is disputed by Carmen Yulín Cruz, Mayor of San Juan. She tweets: “Six months after Maria things are not what they should be. Thousands are still without electricity due to neglect and bureaucracy, Our lives matter.”

Please let this be true. ¡Que sería verdadero! Pero parece que no. Jugando con las numeros.

NOPE! Just like I thought, everybody up in the mountains is still on generators! They are just playing with the numbers. AEE reports on Twitter that they are at 93%. At least they’re still working on it.
